Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at the Kigali International Airport – Kigali City Tour

On the first day of your safari, you will be welcomed by our company guide who will transfer you to the accommodation that has been booked check in after, you will have some time to refresh, and keep your luggage so well then we head out to the city visiting the most iconic centres like the Kigali Genocide Memorial, this is a place where thousands of Rwanda people are put to rest as a result of the 1994 genocide, while here you will have the chance of listening to the actual reason of what triggered the war during the time if time allows we will visit the Kimoronko market for the local foodstuff views and spices, returning for dinner and staying overnight at Luxury: Kigali Serena Hotel. Day 2: Transfer To Akagera National Park

You will be picked up by our company/guide who will transfer you to Akagera National Park, the Journey takes approximately 2 hours’ drive to arrive at the destination, on arrival at the park we check in at the lodge, have lunch, and an afternoon game drive, the first day is always as interesting with all the excitement expect to meet zebras, antelopes of different species, leopards to mention a few, we will return to the lodge for dinner and staying overnight at Luxury: Rusizi Tented Camp. Day 3: Game Drives and Boat Cruise Along Lake Ihema

Morning breakfast after we head out in search of game, the morning time is mostly busy as most of the wildlife species do come to graze and predators to hunt, through the well-distributed game tracks and open roof safari car you will be able to see impala, leopards, lions, rhinos, giraffes, elephants, you will not miss the many birds of the park returning to the lodge for a hot lunch and an afternoon boat cruise along the Lake Ihema, expect to see most of the water animals like hippos, Nile crocodiles along the marshy areas you will have the chance to see the rare shoe bill on a lucky day, we will return to the lodge for dinner and staying overnight at Luxury: Rusizi Tented Camp. Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Morning breakfast, after which our company guide/driver will pick you up from accommodation following a morning game drive, where you spend the night, he will transfer you to the Volcanoes National Park in the northern part of the country for a gorilla experience the conservation area is approximately 4 hours’ drive from the Kigali, it is a scenic drive as you pass by the rolling beautiful hills valleys, and tea plantations, arriving in time for lunch and evening relaxation. Day 5: Gorilla Trekking Experience

Following an early morning breakfast, we will be transferred to the park centre for a morning briefing from the park rangers, they will tell you how to conduct yourself while with the primates, and the rules and regulations as our guide helps you to register for the gorilla trekking activity in groups of 8 you will be allowed into the forest, it is an amazing place through the huge trees and tree climbing plants, the walk can take 2- or even the entire day depending on how far the gorilla families have moved, on reaching there, an hour is allowed while with the primates returning to meet your guide who will transfer you to the lodge for dinner and staying overnight at Luxury: Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel. Day 6: Visit The Twin Lakes Burera and Ruhondo and Transfer To Lake Kivu

We will have breakfast, and take a tour around the beautiful twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo, these popular lakes of Rwanda, are situated along the foothills of the Volcanoes National Park which is surrounded by lovely mountains, these a great place to see the vast phenomenal environment, we will return to the lodge for lunch and transfer to the Lake Kivu, depending on the time of arrival, you will have the chance to view the overlooking beautiful island dotted mountain and the Virunga volcanic region, dinner and staying overnight at Luxury: Lake Kivu Serena Hotel. Day 7: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Nyungwe Forest National Park, is an angelic destination and a beautiful ride to the ecosystem, passing through the rolling hills with the backdrop of the mountains, we will have time to stop by the Nyanza kings palace to view the old royal kingdom of the Rwandan king, en route we will take a tour at the museum for historical findings of the people of Rwanda, and it takes 6 hours’ drive to the national park arriving in time for dinner and stay overnight at the lodge that has been booked, enjoy evening small walks around the lodge Luxury: One and Only Nyungwe Lodge. Day 8: Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy Walk

Early morning breakfast and we transfer to the park headquarters Uwinka Visitor Center for a briefing from the park rangers, in groups, we will hike through the park in search of primates, it takes 2–3 hours to do the activity an hour is allowed while with the chimpanzees, along the walk look out through the trees for you will see other primates of the park, for example, Black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys to mention a few, we will return to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon canopy walk along the long suspended bridge in the park, it is a beautiful way of viewing the park from the skies, returning for dinner and stay overnight at Luxury: One and Only Nyungwe Lodge. Day 9: Departure

You will have a relaxed breakfast, after which you return to Kigali for your international flight to our final destination.
